Guru Upashana Mahanta Gogoi (previously known as Upasana Mahanta) is a distinguished Bharatanatyam exponent, choreographer, and mentor based in Guwahati, Assam. Born to Binay Krishna Mahanta and Jayasree Mahanta, she began her artistic journey at the tender age of three
Her formal training is a blend of prestigious lineages. She started with Sattriya dance under Gurus Hiranya Kumar Mahanta and Nritya Churamoni Guru Ananada Mohan Bhagabati, later refining her skills under Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Guru Ram Krishna Talukdar and Adhyapak Naren Chandra Barua. Her Bharatanatyam training began under the legendary Guru Padmashree Pushpa Bhuyan and continued with Guru Arkadev Bhattacharyya. She further honed her expertise with a Diploma from Kalakshetra under Vice Principal C.K. Balagopal.
